Winter Squash

Plant 12 inches apart or in clumps as the vines will spread far and wide.  Allow to cure in the field unless you are worried about frost.  Harvest when the vines closest to the fruit die off or the right color is achieved.  Storage ability varies with variety.

Excessive heat and/or drought can prevent blossom set, reduce yields. Winter squash can take one or two light frosts on the vine. To improve flavor and storage, field cure for at least 10 days after harvest, covering if hard frost threatens.
