24th Ambler Farm Day: A Stellar Day at the Farm!

October 10, 2024

On Sunday, October 6th, we celebrated our 24th Annual Ambler Farm Day. Thousands from Wilton and beyond enjoyed this annual Wilton tradition that marks the beginning of Fall and is an important fundraiser for Ambler Farm. This year’s spectacular sunny and warm weather reflected a day filled with joy, laughter and community spirit.

Ambler Farm Day is truly about community supporting community and this year was no exception. In that spirit, we would like to express our thanks to our invaluable 100+ volunteers (both adults and youths) who joined us. People have asked, was it successful? The answer is a resounding YES. Success is measured in many ways. In addition to a fundraiser, this event is also a friend-raiser! The sheer number of attendees, smiling faces, friends volunteering together, and more demonstrates connections that were made yesterday. That is priceless. Attendees were a part of something truly special on Sunday.

We are especially grateful for our Ambler Farm Sponsors this year: ASML, Tauck, Media Sponsor: Good Morning Wilton, Village Market, Nuvance Health-Go Health Urgent, Orem’s Diner, Outdoor Sports Center, Seven Acres Montessori, Stew Leonard’s, Wilton Fit Body Boot Camp, Wilton Go Green, Wilton Soccer Association, Ancona’s Wines & Liquors, Caraluzzi’s, Redding Veterinary Hospital, Ring’s End, Riverbrook Regional YMCA, and Wilton Hardware.

I would like to acknowledge our dedicated supporters including: Ambler Farm’s own Apprentices, Blue Hill Orchard, Curbside Compost, Durants Rentals, Erin Woolard, Freedom Field Lining, Kuss Farm, Maida Designs, Present Company Band, A Royal Flush, STA, Wilton Girl Scouts, Town of Wilton, The Turnover Shop of Wilton, Untangled, Wilton CERT, Wilton Dept. of Public Works, Wilton Fire Dept, Wilton Police Dept, Wilton Parks & Recreation, and Wilton Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Thanks to the food trucks who offered up delicious options: Bo’s Dough, Freddy’s Platos, Greek Style Grill, Silver Sands Pizza, and Skip’s Ice Cream Co.

We offer a special thanks to the local bakers who generously donated over 200 delicious baked goods, and to our brave volunteers who took the plunge in the Dunk Tank: Deputy Fire Chief Jim Blanchfield, Weston Firefighter Nelson Bukov, Second Selectman Joshua Cole, Wilton Football Coach Edward Dinunzio, Wilton Police Officer Eric Patenade, Hurlbutt Elementary Assistant Principal Matther Paylor, and Wilton Public School Superintendent Kevin Smith. Thank you to our ASML volunteers who staked and secured the haymaze.

Finally, a tremendous thank you goes to our incredible dynamic duo responsible for curating and executing our Special Events. Laura Guzewicz, Events Director and Amy Devore, Events and Sponsorship Leader dedicated months ensuring the day would be fun and safe for all! Thanks to Patti Temple, our Board of Directors President and all of our Board Members for their support and helping hands. I’d like to thank our incredible staff supporting Laura and Amy behind the scenes: Kevin Meehan – Program Director who led our Apprentices on Sunday, Kaz Nobumoto for supporting our team beyond programs, Betsy Back, Kara Berghaus, Robyn Reeves, Adrienne Calderone – Bookkeeper, Jonathan Kirschner – Director of Agriculture, and his team including our dedicated farm stand volunteers for the countless hours they share with us at the Farm.

A final thanks to everyone who attended Ambler Farm Day! We hope you had a wonderful time and look forward to seeing you at the Farm again soon!
