Volunteer

There are many opportunities to volunteer at Ambler Farm, including tending and harvesting in our gardens, helping at one of our children’s programs, helping with our events—like Ambler Farm Day—or assisting customers at our annual Greens Sale and the Farm Stand.

Whether you’re an individual, a school club or a corporate group, we’d love your help!

Contacts for each area are listed below. Please get in touch with any (or all) —we would be thrilled to work with you to find the perfect fit for you and your schedule—whether you can dedicate an hour, a couple of days, or more:

DEVELOPMENT

Join our Development Committee! Did you know that Ambler Farm manages 18 acres of bucolic open space? It is one of the few Wilton amenities that is free and open to the public 365 days a year, dawn to dusk. We depend on donations, grants, produce sales and program/event revenue to maintain and operate the farm. Farms require constant maintenance on the agricultural side. And our many historical buildings require significant maintenance and restoration. Once renovated, the Raymond Ambler Farmhouse will host educational programs, activities, and events, but we need help raising funds. Please contact Ashley Kineon to offer your help or with any questions.

EVENTS + PROGRAM SUPPORT

Our Special Events team welcomes volunteers! A fun, well-executed event looks seamless and easy, but to make that happen, a lot goes on behind the scenes. If you love helping with and setting up events, grab a friend or two and contact Laura Guzewicz or Amy Devore to get involved. Upcoming events where we seek volunteers are below:

AMBLER FARM DAY

Sunday, October 6th, Noon – 4pm

We welcome hundreds of families every year to this beloved Wilton tradition. Celebrate Fall with fun activities for the whole family to enjoy:

● Hayrides ● Apple Slingshot ● Dunk-A-Local Celebrity ● Sweets & Treats Sale ● Pumpkin Patch ● Pie-In-The-Face ● Ambler Shop ● Hay Maze ● Live Music ● Children’s Crafts ● Tap-A-Tree Toss ● and more!

Volunteers are the backbone of this event. There are various ways to get involved before and during the event. Here are some ways you can help:

● Volunteer on the big day! If you are interested in volunteering, either the day of the event or prior, please sign up below. We’d love to have you!

●  Donate used clothes for the Make-Your-Own-Scarecrow station: This popular activity relies on the generosity of donations to make it such a success. Clothing donations can be dropped off at the bin outside the White Carriage Barn at Ambler Farm. Long sleeved shirts, pants and sweaters/sweatshirts size 12 youth and up are preferred. Wondering if your donations are what we’re looking for? Feel free to email Laura Guzewicz (laura@amblerfarm.org) with any questions.

 ● Own a bakery or work in a commercial kitchen? Do you work for a local business or know someone who does? We’re interested in cookies, cupcakes, brownies, fudge, candy or caramel apples, fresh breads, muffins and other treats; wrapped to sell (please indicate if nuts are included). Drop off at the farm on Saturday, October 5th, 10am-4pm, at the Ambler Farm Carriage Barn, or curbside the day of the event 10-10:30am. Please contact Amy Devore (amy@amblerfarm.org) with Bake Sale questions.

Thank you for your help and for supporting Ambler Farm! Please contact either Laura or Amy with any questions.
