Have you ever seen kohlrabi at the Farm Stand or market and wonder what that alien-spaceship-looking vegetable was? Maybe kohlrabi!
Farmer Jonathan grows both green and purple varieties of this member of the cabbage family, and it can be eaten both raw in a salad or slaw, or roasted, steamed or braised. Packed with vitamins B, C, fiber and antioxidants along with potassium to help replenish electrolytes that are lost as we swelter in the heat. We will be trying this recipe ourselves for a festive side dish for the Fourth!
When it’s too hot to cook (like right now), we love an easy, bright, refreshing dish that uses the freshest produce. Come get your kohlrabi and other freshly-picked produce at our weekly Farm Stand at Ambler Farm, every Saturday from 9am-1pm.
And visit us on Wednesdays from 11am – 3pm at the weekly Wilton Farmers’ Market on the Town Green.
