Ambler Farm is open every day, dawn to dusk. There is no cost to visit, unless you are attending a specific event or program where a nominal fee applies. Please note: there will be times when certain areas of the Farm, including the animal area, will be closed to the public for programming purposes. Please note: Ambler Farm is CLOSED during the Town of Wilton Fireworks. This is for the safety of all. Any cars parked at the Farm will be towed. No walk-ins allowed.
Ambler Farm is located at 257 Hurlbutt Street in Wilton, Connecticut.
Parking is available in the gravel parking area across from the white Carriage Barn. For larger events and the weekly farm stand (Saturdays, June – October), overflow parking is in the grass field north of the Red Barn. Please be courteous to our neighbors and do NOT park on Hurlbutt Street or surrounding streets. Handicap parking is available in the paved parking area adjacent to the white Carriage Barn.
Ambler Farm is pleased to host a variety of educational programs and community events. Please view our calendar for current offerings, and visit our annual happenings page to start planning for the year.
For large groups of 10 or more, we ask that you please refer to our rental guidelines to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all of our visitors. Please note that Farm scheduled programs take priority over public use of the Farm (including but not limited to picnic tables). Please contact Ashley Kineon, Executive Director, for additional information.
Visitors are welcome to explore our grounds. Please note that access to certain areas may be limited during Ambler Farm programming such as field trips, birthday parties and summer camp.
Please respect our farm and fellow visitors by following the guidelines listed below:
When visiting the farm, please follow the Town of Wilton’s latest COVID-19 safety protocols here. This link provides the latest recommendations regarding social distancing and wearing masks. If you choose to gather with friends or meet up as a group at the farm, please adhere to social distance guidelines.
Do not climb trees. Do not sit, climb, stand or run on historic stone walls or stacked wood walls or piles.
Do not climb on any equipment, new or old, including the tractors and trailer.
Do not pick flowers or produce. They are lovingly tended by staff and volunteers for all to enjoy. Produce and flowers are available for purchase at our Saturday Farm Stand and at the Wilton Farmers’ Market on the Town Green June – October.
Do not enter fenced-in areas, including animal pens, gardens, compost area, greenhouse or prep area behind the Red Barn without a volunteer or staff member.
Do not open any gates without staff or volunteer authorization.
All buildings at Ambler Farm are closed to visitors unless open for a specific event or function. The Yellow House is a private residence—please do not enter the yard or driveway.
Please do not feed or pet our animals. Staff and volunteers need to care for our animals and we ask that their pens, including the locks and latches, and the animals themselves come in as little contact with the public as possible.
Do not move any items (equipment, benches, etc.) or rope-off areas.
The farm is a public space. Appropriate attire must be worn at all times.
All-terrain vehicles are not allowed on the farm.
The use of kites, drones or any remote controlled vehicles are prohibited on the farm.
Amplified music is prohibited at any time, except for specific Ambler Farm programs or events.
We follow the Town of Wilton’s “Carry In, Carry Out” policy. Please remove any garbage you bring to the farm.
Smoking is not allowed in our gardens, educational areas, or anywhere near the animals. Smoking is also prohibited inside all of the farm’s structures.
We love animals! Please keep yours, and ours, safe.
Please be aware of other people visiting or working at the farm. We expect all visitors to be respectful of our animals, our fields and each other at all times. Disruptive behavior is prohibited.
Children must be supervised at all times. Stay off all farm equipment including and not limited to tractors, mowers and trailers.
Dumping of leaves or other debris in our compost area is strictly prohibited. Professional landscapers with leaves should contact Jonathan Kirschner: jonathan@amblerfarm.org
Photography is allowed at the farm. Please see our Photography Guidelines for more information. Drones are not allowed.
Anyone not abiding by any portion of these guidelines will be asked to leave the farm. Please contact Ashley Kineon, Executive Director, with any questions.
