One of the highlights of our campers’ Family Fridays is when our camp families gather to sample freshly-harvested produce, which includes shishito peppers. Unknowingly, partakers are playing “shishito roulette,” in which one pepper out of about 10 packs a powerful punch (most of them have a mildly spicy and sweet flavor). You never know which one you’ll be biting into, and that’s part of the fun!
Our peppers, like all of our produce, are grown from seed using organic practices.
Try this recipe (which also explains the gamble on heat) for easy skillet-blistered shishito peppers – maybe you’ll get lucky and get a hot one!
Come get your shishito peppers and other freshly-picked produce at our Weekly Farm Stand at Ambler Farm, every Saturday from 9am-1pm, and on Wednesdays from 11am – 3pm at the weekly Wilton Farmers’ Market on the Town Green.
